Religious Statue of St. Jude

This statue of St. Jude is a vintage religious figurine in chalkware and was popularly produced in the 1930s–1960s in the U.S. and parts of Europe. These statues were widely used in Catholic homes, churches, and shrines, serving as both devotional objects and symbols of hope in desperate or impossible situations.  St. Jude Thaddeus is one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus and is known as the Patron Saint of Lost Causes and Desperate Situations.  St. Jude is depicted standing upright and holding a staff in one hand (symbol of his martyrdom) with an image of Jesus’ face on a medallion over his chest (called the Image of Edessa or Holy Mandylion).  He stands 9 inches tall.
